Panama City Beach Guide And Information
One of
the great spring break destinations in the United States
is Panama City Beach in Florida. But more than
that, because of new additions in the area, one of the
country's greatest beaches is quickly becoming a choice
destination all year through. The best times of
the year to check out all that Panama City Beach has
to offer will depend on what your vacation circumstances
and needs are. Here are some suggestions to keep
in mind.
If your trip to Panama City Beach will
be in conjunction with spring break, you should know
that the spring break crowd arrives from mid February
through early April. At these times of year, most
of the hotels and motels will be occupied by those on
spring break. If you're one of those people, be
sure to check out all the special concerts and MTV specials
that will be happening on the beach behind Boardwalk
Beach Resort, Club La Vela and Spinnaker. Outdoor
concerts will be available to anyone.
Even if you're a family visiting Panama
City Beach during traditional spring break time, you'll
find plenty of family activities that don't involve
the party scene. You'll find that the hotels on the
east end offer surroundings that are quieter and better
suited for family vacations. You can also take
a trip to St. Andrews State Park to take in the beautiful
outdoors. There, you'll find inexpensive camping
right by St. Andrews Bay, with easy access to the beach,
hiking and more. And when you find the need for
a drink or snack, there are three convenient stores
nearby.
Still, families visiting Panama City
Beach will find May through September a better time
to visit. At these times, the entire beach is
ready to receive family groups and in full swing.
All of the restaurants and attractions in the area will
be operating during this time. Some of these include
Shipwreck Island Water Park. This is a popular
destination that will help everyone cool off and have
a great time in the process. Another enjoyable
stop is the Pier Park, which hosts a wide variety of
eclectic shops and restaurants, plus the brand new Grand
Theater. This modern facility has 16 large screens
and is a good way to cool off with some enjoyable entertainment
after a hot day in the sun.
If you visit Panama City Beach in the
fall or winter, you'll find it's a little slower then.
Many of the stores will have earlier closing times,
and some attractions will close down for the season.
However, most people enjoyable the variety of festivals
and local fairs that come to the beach around mid October.
One of special note is the Indian Summer Fest, which
showcases favorites from local arts and crafts, restaurants,
and fun concerts. To find out which festivals
will be taking place during your stay, talk with someone
at your hotel and they should be able to help you.
No matter what time of year you visit,
Panama City Beach can provide the fun, relaxing vacation
you want.
